Drawing its DNA from the 63 year history of Car Mechanics magazine, Bargain Cars covers the whole range with essential buying advice and inspiration, along with help to choose the best car for you. We also help you after purchase with essential advice on ongoing ownership and maintenance, and look at some of the big issues facing people who choose to run interesting older cars rather than always wanting the newest and latest..

Our first issue covered cars ranging from Jaguars superb XF luxury saloon which can now be bought for under £5000, through to cheap roof down sports car fun with sub-£1000 Mazda MX5, mud-plugging with the original Land-Rover Freelander and profiles of modern classics like the mid-noughties Mercedes-Benz SL and BMW 5-Series.

Our second issue – out now – introduces something rather special – the Bargain Cars Volvo S80; a 2001 diesel saloon which has been driven 717,000 miles in its nineteen year history.
